Crawling & Data Use Policy
Short version: we want you to read this site. Search engines and AI retrieval crawlers are explicitly welcome on all public pages. What we do not permit is lifting the database wholesale, or circumventing the limits we publish. Questions about bulk access? Write to us — we would rather license it to you than fight about it.
1. Why we are open
UCUN is a listing and matchmaking platform for home-textile stock and finished goods, based in the Nantong home-textile cluster, Jiangsu, China. We deliberately publish machine-readable product data — structured fabric specifications, multi-language server-rendered pages, an OpenAPI contract and an llms.txt index — because we want AI sourcing assistants to be able to judge a batch of goods accurately: what it is, its specifications, the price, the minimum order, and whether it can be exported.
Summarising, quoting and linking to our listings is welcome and encouraged.
2. Allowed
Permitted
- Search engines and AI retrieval crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot, Applebot, Bytespider, CCBot, Amazonbot, meta-externalagent and others) crawling and indexing public pages, per our
/robots.txt. - Quoting individual listings, with attribution to
ucunhome.com. - Normal product-search use of the
/api/open/v1/*endpoints, within the published rate and volume limits. - Adopting or referencing our published data structures and field conventions, with attribution.
3. Not allowed
Prohibited
- Mirroring, copying or bulk-exporting our data in whole or in substance.
- Circumventing
/robots.txt, rate limits, pagination depth caps or volume quotas — including by rotating IP addresses or forging forwarding headers. - Reselling or sub-licensing our data, or using it to build a service that substantially competes with this platform.
- Crawling non-public pages, admin or back-office pages, or unopened endpoints.
- Harvesting supplier contact details. We do not publish them anywhere, and buyers reach suppliers through on-site inquiry only.
4. The published limits
- Rate: per-IP request rate, returned as HTTP 429 when exceeded.
- Pagination depth: list endpoints are open to a published offset ceiling; deeper access is not offered.
- Volume quota: a per-IP cap on the number of records returned per hour — counted by records, not by requests. Normal sourcing use is orders of magnitude below it.
- Paid capability quotas: AI rendering and translation are limited per IP, to prevent abuse of metered third-party APIs.
These limits are engineering measures, not the basis of our rights. The rights statement is in section 5.
5. Rights statement
This policy is an explicit reservation of rights over the platform's data and database. Access to this site is granted on the terms above. We reserve the right to pursue legal remedies against violations, including requiring cessation of the infringing conduct, removal of the copied data, and compensation for loss. We consider circumvention of the published technical measures, in order to take the database, to be a clear-cut violation rather than an accident.
Note that we cannot and do not claim exclusive rights over product parameter data as such — specifications like yarn count, width or weight are facts about goods and belong to no one. What we assert is our right over this database: its selection, organisation, structure and compiled content. Reproducing the parameter fields with attribution is fine; lifting the compiled whole is not.
6. Bulk access and licensing
If you are an AI provider, a marketplace, or a research group and you need more than the published limits allow, please contact us. We are open to licensing, to a documented higher quota, or to building an interface that serves your use case. What we ask is that you come and talk to us instead of working around us.
7. Robots and machine-readable entry points
/robots.txt— crawl rules, including the back-office paths we keep out of every index/llms.txt— the AI-facing site index/openapi.json— OpenAPI 3.0 contract for the open data API/api/open/v1— endpoint index and self-description- Platform rules (中文) — the platform rules that govern buyers and suppliers
